I’m not very good at corporate stuff. Business, yes; corporate, no. Corporate entertainment, branding, office bonding exercises, that sort of thing. Consequently, despite having been in partnership with John Roberts of Bear Business Services for a couple of years, I’ve only just ordered some of the sort of clothing, embroidered by John, that we sell on the web site (this web site).
John didn’t bat an eyelid at the multi-coloured logo; this is simple by his standards, but he did point out that we needed to be careful with our choice of garment colours – since having a black logo outline on a black background wouldn’t show up very well. (We chose the turquoise and the lime for the people they suited, and neutral grey for the rest. Arguably matching grey in my case.)
The web site promotes a semi-automatic process from logo to clothes, but in practice there’s plenty of opportunity for discussion. As he often does, John provided a couple of stitched samples of the logo, illustrating the effects of different colours – in this case particularly for the bee’s face and the text. (We chose Maize and Dark Blue, respectively.)
As you might gather from the fact that I’m posting this here, we’re very happy with the results.
